Akron driving realities where PPF makes the difference

Between I-77 stone spray, Route 8 grit, and the salt and brine that lingers on Summit County roads, Akron paint takes a steady beating in the exact zones buyers notice first: bumper, hood leading edge, mirrors, and rockers. XPEL Ultimate Plus helps protect those high-impact areas while keeping the finish looking original – not like an add-on – when installed with careful prep and panel-by-panel alignment in a controlled studio.

Gloss vs Matte (Stealth finish)

Choose the Finish That Matches Your Build

Both finishes use premium protection film – the difference is the final look. Choose the finish that matches your paint, trim, and how you want the vehicle to read in sunlight.

Choose Gloss if you want protection that disappears and keeps your paint looking factory.

Choose Stealth if you want a satin aesthetic (or need to protect factory matte) without giving up impact protection.

Areas we commonly serve near Akron

Keeping your PPF clear through Summit County weather

First wash timing: avoid washing for 7 days so the film can fully set and edges can stabilize.

Early care (first 2 weeks)

• Skip automatic brushes and avoid directing high-pressure water at edges.
• If you must rinse, keep the nozzle at a safe distance and spray at a shallow angle.

Normal, expected things

• Light water spotting and a small amount of edge texture can happen early and typically settles.
• You may see moisture under film initially; it should clear as it cures.

Best long-term routine

• Hand wash with pH-neutral soap and microfiber mitts.
• Remove bugs and tar quickly (warm months) using safe cleaners; do not scrub dry.
• In winter, rinse salt and brine off frequently - especially around rockers and behind wheels.

When to contact us

New edge lift, trapped debris that grows, or a spot that stays cloudy after the cure period.

Akron PPF questions we hear before the install

Does PPF help with the rock spray on I-77 and Route 8?
Yes. Those corridors kick up grit that targets the bumper, hood leading edge, mirrors, and rockers. PPF helps absorb that impact and reduces visible chipping – it is protection, not magic, so severe hits can still mark the film.
Salt and brine are abrasive when they dry. The film is designed to resist staining, but rinsing road film off regularly and using gentle hand washes helps keep edges clean and the surface clear.
It can, but the film is transparent so existing defects may still show. We will inspect the paint and recommend polishing or touch-up where it makes sense before film goes on.
Self-healing refers to light swirls and marring on the film surface that can lessen with warmth (sun or engine heat). Deep cuts that go through the film will not fully heal.
It is a manufacturer warranty for defects in the film material (for example yellowing, cracking, blistering, or delamination). It does not cover rock impacts, accidents, or damage from improper care.
Most installs are completed within the booked window for your coverage level. You can drive after install, but plan to avoid washing for 7 days and be gentle around edges early on.
Stealth changes the visual finish on any panel it covers. If you want a subtle accent, it can be used on specific panels; if you want the entire vehicle to read satin, full coverage is the move.
Many owners do. A coating can make washing easier and add slickness, but it is optional – PPF is for impact protection, while coating is about maintenance and surface behavior.
