Start to finish, everybody made me feel like a VIP. Becky made scheduling effortless, and walked me through the process from start to finish, with after hours pick up being a breeze. I wish I had gotten the names of the techs that worked on applying the PPF to my new Tesla. They were incredible as well. The finished product is amazing. I recently took my 2026 Corvette Stingray to Nathan’s to have Xpel PPF & Xpel Ceramic coating applied to car. This is the second corvette that I have used the Xpel product on I feel it is the best combination on the market.Nathan’s did a fantastic job with my car. The business that did my first corvette did a great job but seemed rushed and not that interested in keeping a repeat customer happy. I saw Nathan’s was also a “certified trained” installer of Xpel products so I gave them a call for a quote. They were genuinely happy I called, they explained everything in detail and they were offering me the higher grade Xpel ceramic coating and were doing the wheels, and windows plus a few additional areas of PPF that I requested and they were less expensive then my other shop. I also was going to be out of town and I was able to drop off my car and they would store it inside until I could pick it up 1 week later. Everyone there was very friendly and knowledgeable and kept me informed every step of the way. The shop is spotless and nothing is left laying around. Is ceramic coating worth it vs waxing?

Yes—ceramic coating bonds to your clear coat to add long-term gloss, hydrophobics, and easier washing, while wax is a temporary layer that washes off in weeks. Most clients wash faster and keep that “just detailed” look longer.

How long does a 5-year coating last in Ohio weather?

In real Northeast Ohio conditions, a high quality XPEL 5-year coating typically delivers 5 years of protection with proper washing and annual maintenance.

Can ceramic coating be applied mobile, or only in-shop?

For best results we coat in-shop where lighting, temperature, and dust control are dialed in—especially for multi-year, pro-grade systems like XPEL. We keep “mobile” to decon/prep and maintenance toppers; the full install happens in our controlled shop.

How long is the cure time after install?

You can drive the same day, but avoid washing for 7 days while the coating cures.

Will a coating hide scratches or swirls?

No—coatings do not fill or hide defects. We correct paint before coating so the finish is clean and glossy, then the coating locks in that clarity and helps resist future micro-marring.

How do I wash a coated car (soaps, brushes, touchless)?

Use a pH-neutral soap, soft mitt, and quality foam/rinse method; avoid harsh brushes and tunnel wash brushes. Touchless is OK for quick rinses, but hand washing keeps hydrophobics and gloss performing their best.

What maintenance do you recommend (boosters, inspections)?

Plan yearly decon/booster maintenance services at minimum. At home, rinse, use drying aid after washes, and remove bug/tar promptly to keep water behavior and gloss at peak.

What is the difference between ceramic coating and PPF?

Ceramic coating is a chemical-bonded liquid polymer that adds gloss, hydrophobic performance, and UV/chemical resistance — but it does not stop rock chips. Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear self-healing urethane film that physically absorbs rock-chip impacts, scratches, and road debris. Many Nathan’s clients run both: XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF on the front end, XPEL Fusion Plus ceramic coating over the entire vehicle. We discount ceramic 10% when bundled with PPF and tint.

Does ceramic coating prevent rock chips?

No — ceramic coating does not prevent rock chips. Ceramic is a chemical layer roughly 3–5 microns thick, which protects against UV, chemicals, water spots, and light micro-marring, but not against stone impacts at highway speed. For rock chip protection, you need paint protection film (PPF). Many Nathan’s clients run XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF on the front end (hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors) plus XPEL Fusion Plus ceramic coating across the whole vehicle for complete protection.

Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

We recommend it — every paint surface needs decontamination, and most need at least a paint enhancement polish before coating. Skipping correction locks swirl marks, water spots, and bonded contamination under the ceramic coating for the full 5-to-8-year warranty period, where they’re permanent until removal. Nathan’s 5-Year and 8-Year XPEL Fusion Plus packages include decontamination plus enhancement polish; heavier correction (multi-stage compound for deeper scratches) is inspected and quoted honestly before work begins.
