What does “full mobile car detail” mean at Nathan’s?

“Full detail” is not a universal industry package name.

At Nathan’s, a complete mobile detail combines the interior-detailing scope with exterior work.

Premium Complete is our maintenance-oriented complete package. Platinum Complete adds deeper exterior processes when the paint and protection goal is higher.

Interior scope + exterior scope + vehicle size + vehicle condition + protection depth = complete-detail price

Our mobile detailing inclusions guide explains why the booked task list matters more than the phrase “full detail.”

How is a complete detail different from interior-only detailing?

Interior-only detailing concentrates the service on the cabin.

A complete detail keeps that interior scope and adds exterior processes.

Interior-only detailing currently ranges from $239–$289, while Premium Complete ranges from $299–$379.

The difference reflects the added exterior scope rather than simply charging more for the same interior service.

What does the interior-only service look like?

These current Premium Interior package images illustrate the three vehicle-size categories before we add exterior-detailing scope.

Interior-only makes sense when the cabin is the actual problem. A customer should not have to buy complete exterior work simply because the vehicle needs vacuuming, seat cleaning, stain treatment or interior-glass care.

What does Premium Complete add to the interior service?

Premium Complete combines the Premium Interior work with exterior cleaning and temporary protection.

Broadly, the complete scope adds exterior washing, wheel and tire care, exterior-glass cleaning, road-film and bug treatment, door-jamb cleaning and Premium wax protection.

Exact current purchase inclusions remain on the commercial package page.

Why does Premium Complete cost more than Premium Interior?

Because exterior detailing adds a second group of vehicle surfaces and additional processes.

Vehicle sizePremium InteriorPremium CompleteCurrent difference
Small$239$299$60
Medium$259$339$80
Large$289$379$90

That additional amount currently moves the service from an interior reset into complete interior-and-exterior maintenance.

Higher price should correspond to added work. The useful comparison is not “Why is complete more expensive?” but “Which exterior processes are being added to the interior service?”

Why does vehicle size affect complete-detail pricing?

A complete detail covers both cabin and exterior surfaces, so vehicle size influences the service twice.

A larger vehicle can contain more:

  • Seats and seating rows
  • Interior carpet and floor area
  • Interior and exterior glass
  • Doors and jambs
  • Cargo area
  • Exterior paint area
  • Wheel and tire area
  • Trim and body surfaces
How vehicle size changes complete mobile detailing workload Small, medium and large vehicles increase both interior and exterior surface area. SMALL MEDIUM LARGE CABIN + EXTERIOR LOWER TOTAL AREA MORE CABIN + BODY CROSSOVER / SMALL SUV MORE ROWS + CARGO + MORE EXTERIOR AREA $299 PREMIUM $339 PREMIUM $379 PREMIUM A COMPLETE DETAIL SCALES ACROSS BOTH THE CABIN AND THE EXTERIOR NATHAN’S DETAILING
Vehicle size affects complete-detail pricing because both interior and exterior surface area increase.

How does vehicle condition affect a full-detail quote?

Vehicle condition changes treatment intensity.

Our current terms and conditions identify factors including dirt, staining, contamination, pet hair, sand, salt, mold, odor, debris, paint condition, previous repair, accessibility and labor/material requirements.

ConditionInterior effectExterior effect
Heavy pet hairCan require repeated extraction and specialty toolsUsually little direct exterior effect
Sand / heavy debrisMore vacuuming and crevice workMay also be present around jambs and exterior contact areas
Winter saltMats and carpets may require additional treatmentLower panels, wheels and road-film areas may require more cleaning
Stains / spillsMaterial-specific targeted treatmentUsually unrelated unless exterior contamination also exists
Heavy bugs / tar / road filmLittle interior effectCan increase exterior treatment demand
Bonded paint contaminationNo interior effectCan move the vehicle toward Platinum-level decontamination

How does the Extra Dirty / Pet Hair condition affect a complete detail?

Nathan’s currently publishes Extra Dirty / Pet Hair at +$59 when qualifying vehicle condition requires additional time and tools.

Nathan's Detailing Extra Dirty and Pet Hair add-on
Extra Dirty / Pet Hair is a condition adjustment, not a separate complete-detail package.

The condition charge does not mean every customer who owns a pet automatically pays more.

The relevant issue is the amount and difficulty of the hair, debris or soil actually present.

+$59 does not guarantee correction of every stain, odor or damaged material. It covers additional qualifying workload; permanent staining, torn material, failing surfaces or other damage remain separate limitations.

When does Platinum Complete become the more appropriate full detail?

Premium Complete is appropriate when the main goal is complete interior-and-exterior maintenance.

Platinum Complete becomes more relevant when the exterior also needs deeper preparation and the customer wants more gloss and broader temporary protection.

Our current package guide confirms that Platinum adds clay decontamination, high-gloss machine polishing and enhanced ceramic protection to Premium Complete.

Why is Platinum Complete $200–$220 more than Premium Complete?

Vehicle sizePremium CompletePlatinum CompleteCurrent difference
Small$299$499$200
Medium$339$549$210
Large$379$599$220

That additional price corresponds to added treatment stages rather than simply a higher package label.

The current Platinum package adds:

  • Clay decontamination
  • High-gloss machine polishing
  • Ceramic rain repellent for exterior glass
  • Ceramic wheel protection
  • Ceramic Fabric Guard
  • Ceramic leather protection
  • Ceramic wax advertised for up to nine months
Choose by goal, not by tier. If the vehicle only needs complete cleaning and normal temporary protection, Premium Complete may be enough. Platinum makes more sense when decontamination, polishing and enhanced protection are part of the desired result.

Does “full detail” mean paint correction is included?

No.

Complete detailing and paint correction should not be treated as synonyms.

Premium Complete does not currently list machine polishing.

Platinum Complete includes a high-gloss machine polish, but that does not mean every scratch, oxidation problem or paint defect can be corrected within the package.

More expensive package ≠ unlimited defect removal. Deep scratches, failed clear coat, rock chips, body damage and severe paint defects can remain outside the scope of normal complete mobile detailing.

Does complete detailing include long-term ceramic coating?

No.

Platinum Complete currently includes temporary ceramic wax and surface-specific ceramic protection.

That is different from our separate professional ceramic coating service, which uses studio-installed XPEL coating systems with separate preparation, application and cure requirements.

Temporary ceramic protection and professional multi-year ceramic coating solve different ownership goals. The word “ceramic” alone should not be used to compare their prices.

What should you compare when looking at full-detail prices?

Do not compare only the words “full detail” and the final dollar amount.

Compare the actual work.

Comparison questionWhy it matters
Is the interior actually included? Some services marketed as exterior details do not include the cabin.
Are wheels and tires included?Complete exterior scope varies between providers.
Is decontamination included?Washing and clay treatment are different processes.
Is polishing included?Paint cleaning and paint refinement are not the same task.
What protection is applied?Wax, ceramic wax and professional coating have different purposes and durability.
How is heavy condition handled?Pet hair, salt, sand and heavy debris can materially change labor.
What is specifically excluded?A clear service boundary prevents unrealistic expectations.

How can you estimate which complete-detail price applies to your vehicle?

Complete mobile car detailing price decision framework A decision flow moves through vehicle size, interior and exterior condition, paint needs, protection goals and condition adjustments. 1. VEHICLE SIZE 2. INTERIOR + EXTERIOR CONDITION 3. PAINT PREPARATION NEED 4. PROTECTION GOAL 5. CONFIRM PACKAGE / QUOTE COMPLETE DETAILING PRICE SHOULD FOLLOW THE WORK THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY NEEDS START WITH THE LIVE PACKAGE PAGE — THEN CONFIRM VEHICLE CONDITION NATHAN’S DETAILING
The complete-detail price starts with vehicle size and package depth, then the actual condition determines whether additional work needs to be discussed.

What should you tell us before requesting a full-detail quote?

  • Your vehicle year, make and model
  • Whether it is a small, medium or large vehicle under our current categories
  • Whether the cabin has heavy pet hair
  • Whether there is substantial sand, salt or debris
  • Whether there are significant stains or odor concerns
  • Whether the exterior has heavy bug, tar or road-film buildup
  • Whether the paint feels rough after washing
  • Whether gloss improvement is one of your goals
  • Whether the vehicle already has ceramic coating, PPF or vinyl wrap
  • Whether previous body or paint repair has been performed
  • Whether the service location has unusual access restrictions
Clear condition information makes the quote more useful. Photos can help when heavy pet hair, staining, paint condition or unusual contamination is difficult to describe.

What should a complete mobile detail be judged against?

The correct standard is the package and work that were actually approved.

Our live post-detail inspection guide explains why a remaining permanent stain, scratch or damaged material is not automatically evidence that an included detailing task was missed.

A complete detail should be judged against:

  • The approved package
  • The vehicle’s starting condition
  • The areas included in that package
  • Reasonable cleaning and finish limitations
  • Any approved condition adjustment or add-on
  • The final inspection and handoff

How much should you expect to pay for a full mobile car detail in Northeast Ohio?

Nathan’s current complete-detail pricing is:

  • Premium Complete: $299–$379 depending on vehicle size
  • Platinum Complete: $499–$599 depending on vehicle size
  • Extra Dirty / Pet Hair: +$59 when the qualifying condition applies

Premium Complete is the lower complete-detail level because it combines interior detailing with normal exterior cleaning and temporary wax protection.

Platinum costs more because it adds decontamination, machine polishing and enhanced ceramic protection.

Interior-only service currently starts lower because exterior processes are not part of that package.

Vehicle condition can still affect a final quote, and the current commercial package page controls exact purchase information.
