Where Westlake Paint Takes Hits—And Why Film Is the Clean Fix

Between I‑90 merges, winter brine blowing off traffic, and garage-style parking around Crocker Park, Westlake paint tends to get peppered and scuffed in the same high‑impact zones. XPEL Ultimate Plus is designed to be virtually invisible while helping protect against rock chips, abrasion, staining, and road rash—without pretending your car is indestructible. Installed in a controlled studio, we can prep the surface properly so clarity stays consistent and edges sit tight.

Gloss vs Matte (Stealth finish)

Choose the Finish That Matches Your Build

Both finishes protect the same impact areas—the difference is how the film changes (or preserves) your paint’s look.

Choose Gloss if… you want the paint to look factory and you care most about invisible protection.

Choose Stealth if… you want a true satin appearance and prefer a muted, modern look.

Aftercare That Keeps Film Tight and Clear Through Westlake Winters

First wash: avoid soaps and pressure washing for the first 7 days so edges can fully set.

Gentle early cleaning:

if you need to rinse sooner, use a low-pressure rinse and a clean microfiber—no aggressive scrubbing on edges.

Edge care:

Don’t aim a pressure-washer tip directly at film edges; keep the nozzle back and spray at an angle.

Safe wash method:

pH-neutral soap, soft mitts, and regular rinsing help prevent brine film from drying onto the surface.

What’s normal:

A few tiny moisture pockets or light haze can appear early and typically resolves as the film cures.

Questions Westlake Drivers Ask Before Booking PPF

I’m on I‑90 every day—what coverage usually makes the biggest difference?

For frequent highway driving, the highest-impact zones are typically the front bumper, full hood edge exposure, fenders, mirrors, and the A‑pillars. We’ll recommend a package based on your routes, speeds, and how long you plan to keep the vehicle.

Yes—tight stalls and close foot traffic tend to create light bumper rubs, door-edge taps, and handle-area scratches. Targeted film on bumper corners, door edges, and door cups can reduce the marks you see from daily parking.

Absolutely. Piano-black trim, door cups, and rocker panels are common add-ons because they mark easily and are expensive to replace. We’ll confirm fitment and coverage locations based on your vehicle’s trim layout.

The manufacturer warranty is intended to cover film defects (for example, issues like yellowing, cracking, blistering, or delamination) under normal use. It does not cover rock impacts, dents, collisions, or abuse—PPF helps reduce damage, but it can’t eliminate every hit.

When installed with proper prep and alignment, the goal is “virtually invisible” protection. In a controlled studio we can inspect under lighting, correct what needs correcting, and finish edges clean so the film blends into the paint.

Avoid washing for the first 7 days so the film can fully set. After that, touchless washes are generally fine, but a careful hand wash is best for long-term clarity—especially through winter brine season.

Stealth is a satin-finish film that changes the look while still protecting impact zones. If you ever want to go back to gloss, the film can be professionally removed; the paint beneath should look the same as the day it was covered (assuming the paint was in good shape at install).

We schedule by vehicle and coverage level so you’re not waiting around. You’ll drop off at 23524 Miles Rd, Cleveland, OH 44128 (appointment-only), and we’ll confirm pickup timing once the install and quality check are complete.
