Tesla Paint Protection | Why Is Paint Protection Important?
Tesla Paint Protection | Model S Paint Protection Film
The sad reality is that every time you hit the road with your Tesla, you’re putting your car’s paint at risk. More than likely, you’re not just putting it at risk, you’re seriously damaging it. Tesla makes some amazing cars with some industry leading features. But Tesla’s paint is known for being thin and therefore easy to damage; that’s why Tesla paint protection is very important for Tesla owners! With this new Tesla Model S we had in the shop, the owner wanted to drive his car with full confidence that it is protected for every mile he travels.
The 2022 Tesla Model S
We see a whole lot of Teslas come through our shop, but part of me always gets extra excited whenever I see a Model S come through. There’s something about it’s sleek appearance that really strikes a cord with me. Offering two styles (the base model and the Plaid), the Model S can see upwards of 412 miles of driving range and 1020-hp if you opt for the Plaid. The Plaid, with its yoke-style steering wheel and 1020-hp, comes in at over $30,000 more than the base model’s price of $106,440 at $137,440. Both the base and Plaid are AWD. The base model sees a 3.1s 0-60 while the Plaid sees a 1.99s 0-60. While the base model will see up to 412 miles of travel, the Plaid will only get around 390 miles.
The interior of the vehicle is Tesla through-and-through. There’s something very distinct about the iconic look of the Tesla screen with all of controls integrated on it (we discussed this in our walkaround of a Model X which you can watch here). The minimalist cabin of Teslas really is something that’s very unique to sit in and experience. While it may be too minimalist or not luxurious enough for some, the understated nature of it will certainly appeal to many.
Pop open the trunk to reveal a very impressive 26-cubic-feet of storage! If you’ll need a bit more storage than that, the Model S has got you covered. There’s a front-trunk (or “frunk”) for use as well!
All in all, the Model S provides a very refined and practical look that is impressively understated yet still possessing the eye-catching Tesla charm.
Why Tesla Paint Protection Film?
As we stated earlier, Teslas do have a tendency to come out of the factory with some thin paint. This means driving behind trucks, parking under trees, driving in traffic, driving in the rain, and other basic (and often necessary) driving practices will pose a massive risk to your car’s exterior. Paint Protection Film (a clear, protective polyurethane film) is virtually invisible to they eye and will help guard your car against rock chips, road debris, tree sap, bird droppings, acid etching, as well as scratches and swirls that can ruin your clear coat.

Why Ceramic Coating?
Paint protection film does an amazing job of protecting your car’s exterior. This customer went the extra mile with their Model S to get the full protection package with ceramic coating. Ceramic coating will not only provide extra protection to the car’s glass, plastic, paint, and wheels but will also provide an incredible, gorgeous shine in addition to providing the owner with the easiest car washing experience they’ve ever had! That’s right, ceramic coating has hydrophobic qualities, meaning that it’s much, much harder for road debris to stick to the surface of the car. This means less time needs to spent washing and waxing your ride; spend more time driving it!
XPEL Fusion Plus Ceramic Coating
XPEL Fusion Plus ceramic coating bonds at the molecular level to protect your car’s surface from UV rays, environmental contaminants, as well as bug acid etching. Fusion Plus will help to guard your car’s paint against minor scratches and swirls. Ceramic coating is “hydrophobic.” This means that Fusion Plus will repel water, mud, dirt, and other grime from the road making for the easiest, most efficient car washing experience you’ve ever had!
